Woke up this morning, feeling like a deflated balloon animal, utterly useless and prickly, thanks to the night before. I tossed and turned, wrestled with the blankets, even tried counting sheep – which morphed into a chaotic herd of woolly beasts stampeding across my eyelids. The whole sleep situation was a disaster.

Seriously, I’ve had better rest while crammed into a coach seat on a cross-country flight.
